Patricia lives and works from her studio in Newcastle, Australia.
Born and educated in Northern Ireland and England, Patricia qualified as a solicitor in 1978. After practicing for several years in Ireland she came to Australia in 1982 intending to travel for a year. In 1983 she moved to Adelaide to work for the South Australian Government.
She attended North Adelaide School of Art during 1986/7 obtaining an Advanced Certificate in Art specialising in fibre construction. After moving to Newcastle in 1988 she continued her studies at The Hunter Institute. Later she completed an Associate Diploma in Landscape Design through the Hunter Institute of Technology and later worked in bush regeneration and design.
In 2001 she returned to practicing art, this time to paint. Since then she has been painting and exhibiting regularly pursuing her obsession with landscape. For her these works are an amalgam of both the outer reality through which we travel and the secret inner landscapes of the memory and imagination.
